Expense records
Add bills one at a time or import an expense CSV. PulseIQ groups the spending by category and vendor, shows the dollar amounts and shares, and compares it with the targets you entered above.
Import multiple months to compare trends; PulseIQ includes only the selected month in a monthly diagnostic. Enter revenue and targets for that same month. Amounts are positive spending. If revenue is already net of refunds, check that entering refunds as a cost will not count them twice. Your entries stay in this browser.
Which numbers should the diagnostic use?
Choose one source. Itemized totals replace every monthly actual above; they are never added on top of them. Targets stay the same. If you have only entered some of the month’s bills, keep using monthly category totals until the list is complete.

—
Input-based prioritization signal · Incomplete confidence
Input confidence measures completeness and consistency—not whether the books are correct. Add revenue, costs, and a reporting month to establish an input-confidence signal.
Direct budget overrun · high arithmetic confidence
$0
Actual spending above owner-entered targets. This is arithmetic evidence of a variance—not proof that the full amount is waste or recoverable.
Modeled opportunity · medium model confidence
$0
Calculated from entered assumptions such as missed leads, conversion, customer value, and rework. Treat this as a planning estimate, not guaranteed revenue or savings.

What drives your PulseIQ Health Score?
Starts at 100, subtracts the signals below, rounds to a whole number, then limits the result to 10–98. Revenue is required. This prioritization score does not assess debt, actual cash flow, or creditworthiness.
Improvement opportunity · Awaiting revenue
Completed cost and operational opportunities relative to revenue; capped at 48 points.
Revenue target gap · Awaiting revenue
Shortfall relative to your entered revenue target; capped at 18 points.
Operating margin · Awaiting revenue
24 points below 0%, 16 below 5%, 8 below 10%, otherwise 0.
Diagnostic coverage · Awaiting revenue
10 points below 25% diagnostic completeness, 5 below 50%, otherwise 0.
The coverage measure counts completed target comparisons and operational models. Unentered costs and unevaluated categories can make results look better than they are. Review the data checks before acting.

Where the spending goes
$0.00
Actual spending by category. A large category is not automatically a waste or an overrun.
Enter category totals above or add itemized expenses to see this breakdown.
• Add operating costs before interpreting profit or the health score. Unentered expenses can overstate profitability.
• Add monthly revenue before relying on the health score or margin view.

Detailed review · Current month
What sits underneath the monthly totals?
Use payroll reports, beginning and ending balance sheets, and job records from the same month. These additional calculations stay separate from the monthly scan. Download this review before leaving; it is not included in saved snapshots or the executive PDF.
1. Fully loaded labor cost
Payroll plus overtime in your scan is $0. Enter employer costs excluded from that wage total below. Employer payroll taxes, benefits, workers’ compensation, and other employment costs need their own amounts. Include paid leave wages in payroll once; separate overtime only if it is excluded from payroll.
Employer burden: $0 · Fully loaded labor: $0
Cost per paid hour: Enter paid hours · Cost per productive hour: Enter valid hours
To include these costs in the monthly scan, enter them once in your expense records or an appropriate monthly cost category. This labor breakdown can include costs already listed elsewhere in the scan; it does not add them again.
2. Why profit and cash differ
Start with accrual-based profit from your books, then compare beginning and ending balances. Enter either the increase or decrease for each balance, not both. Use inventory balance movement here, not total inventory purchases. Principal, capital purchases, and distributions belong in this bridge when they were not already deducted from starting profit.
The initial value comes from the scan. Replace it if your books use accrual accounting or contain expenses missing from the scan. A cash-basis profit figure is not a suitable starting point for these working-capital adjustments.
Working-capital cash effect: $0
Principal, capital purchases, and draws: $0
Estimated cash movement: $0 · Estimated closing cash: $0
Compare estimated closing cash with your actual bank balance. Unentered taxes, accruals, asset sales, other balances, and timing differences can leave a gap. This partial bridge is not a complete statement of cash flows; these movements are not automatically waste or recoverable savings.
3. Small differences across individual jobs
Enter a consistent fully loaded hourly labor rate, then compare each job’s planned and actual hours. Contribution is revenue less entered direct costs, before unallocated overhead. Rework should contain only extra costs not already in actual labor hours, materials, or other direct costs.

Choose a specific reporting month, such as August 2026, to show calendar dates. Until then, the outlook uses relative month numbers.
Suggestions use transparent category rules and transaction comparisons. Nothing is changed or deleted without your review. Duplicate-charge prompts remain in the expense section.

Your assumptions
Starts from the revenue and operating costs currently included in your diagnostic. Growth compounds monthly; payroll changes and cost reductions apply once, from Month 1.
Enter monthly revenue to start forecasting.
Add complete operating costs before interpreting profit or cash. The demo can help you explore the tools.
This is a planning scenario. Cash assumes revenue is collected and operating costs are paid in the same month, plus your net cash adjustments. It does not model receivables, payables, seasonality, or unentered costs. Alerts update while this workspace is open; they are not email or background notifications.
Use your historical monthly trend
Add at least three consecutive, comparable months with positive revenue and expenses. PulseIQ calculates the geometric average growth from the first to the last month. Applying the rates keeps your current diagnostic as the starting amount; confirm it represents the latest comparable month.
A usable trend requires 3–24 consecutive months with positive revenue and costs, and monthly growth between −50% and 50%.
Follow through
See whether the fix worked.
Start tracking from a direct cost finding above. Record the next period after making a change. PulseIQ shows the observed spending change separately from any amount you personally confirm was caused by the action.
Actions stay in this browser with your drafts and snapshots. Compare like-for-like periods before claiming a result. Lower spending can reflect lower business volume, timing, or a cost moved elsewhere.
No tracked actions for this business yet. Add a business name and a specific reporting period, then choose “Track a fix” from a direct cost finding.
